PIP meeting

The last time I went to PIP meeting.

A última vez que estive no PIP.

Quilt de Natal e rail fence rosa

Sei que é muito cedo para o Natal mas, há muito tempo que queria fazer um quilt de Natal. A parte da frente já está, o tecido para a parte de trás também já está escolhido e cortado e agora, só falta fazer a sandes e escolher o desenho.

I know it is too soon for Christmas but, I wanted to make a Christmas quilt. The front as you can see is finished, I've choosen the back fabric and now, I only have to make the sandwich and choose the quilting design.

New project: I do not know which pattern I will choose and ....what's going to be!!

Novo projecto: não sei qual dos dois esquemas escolher e .... o que irei fazer!!

Exposição de patchwork

O mês passado (de 29/05/2008 a 31/05/2008 em Cascais) realizou-se uma exposição de patchwork, organizada pela Angela, com os trabalhos das senhoras que pertencem ao IWP. Mais uma vez atrasada mas aqui ficam as fotos de alguns dos trabalhos - todos eram lindos mas não consegui tirar de todos, espero que me desculpem!
Last month (on the 29/05/2008 thru 31/05/2008 in Cascais) there was a patchwork exposition, organized by Angela, with some of the quilts from IWP members. Once agian I am late but, here are the photos from some of the quilts - they were all beautiful but I couldn't take photos from all af them, hope you can excuse me!

Angela taught me how to do this tecnhique (no machine!) and later I found in the net that there's other ways to do it. In this she used jeans.

Angela ensinou-me esta técnica (coser à mão!) e, mais tarde descobri na net outras formas de fazer. Neste foi usado ganga.

This quilt was made by Luisa (PIP). She ofered it to her niece.

Dye fabric workshop

On the 8th of May we had a worksop on Angela's house - dye fabric workshop.

What a beautiful summer day! I took my hat but forgot to cover my back so, while we was on the garden washing the fabrics I got burned on my shoulders.

I also forgot my camera so my I had touse my mobile phone...imagine

No dia 8 de Maio tivemos um workshop em casa da Angela - tingir tecidos.

Estava um espectáculo de dia! Eu lembrei-me de levar o meu chapéu mas esqueci-me de tapar as minhas costas portanto, quando estávamos no jardim a lavar os tecidos apanhei um escaldão nos ombros.

Here you can see Paula hanging her fabrics, mine are on te other side but, the fabric I bought wasn't 100% cotton so I got pastel colors!! Ah ah - always want to be different!! LOL

Podem ver a Paula a pendurar os tecidos dela e, os meus estão do outro lado mas, o tecido que comprei não era 100% algodão por isso as cores que obtive foram em tons pasteis!!! Ah ah - sempre a querer ser diferente!!! LOL

Jenny Bowker workshop

I know that has been two months ago taht I went to Jenny Bowker workshop in Caldas da Rainha (5th of April) but, I want to share with you her beautiful work.

Here you can see one of her works while she was explaining us the technics she used.

Sei que já passaram quase 2 meses desde que fui ao worksop da Jenny Bowker nas Caldas de Rainha (a 5 de Abril) mas não queria deixar de partilhar convosco o espectacular trabalho dela.

When she did it seemed so easy!!!

My machine didn't want to cooperate with me and refused to do free quilting; it broke me, at least, five needles and, I end up using the teacher's machine..eh eh!

Of course that Mario and Angela said that I should buy a Bernina!!!

I have my Singer (XL1 Professional) for about 15 years.

Quando ela fez o acolchoado livre parecia tão fácil!!

A minha máquina de costura não quis cooperar comigo e recusou-se a fazer o acolchoado livre; devo de ter partido umas 5 agulhas e, acabei por ter de usar a máquina da professora... ah ah!

É claro que o Mário e a Angela disseram que eu devia de comprar uma Bernina!!!

And finally, the most beautiful of them all! Each part represent the wars and, in the center, is to the australian native children that were separated from their families.

E finalmente o mais lindo deles todos!!

Cada parte representa as guerras e, no centro representa as crianças aborigenas que foram separadas das suas famílias.

Patchwork - Rail Fence Quilt

No sábado à tarde fui dar um pulinho à loja da Paula pois precisava de tecidos para o meu Rail Fence quilt e para o meu Blue Forest Window quilt e, a Ursula também estava lá. Trouxe um log cabin feito em flanela lindísssimo e, a menina Paula, imaginem, deve-lhe ter dado algo pois tinha feito um enorme caleidoscópio todo feito com a chitas de Alcobaça. Estou a ver que tenho que começar a andar com a máquina fotográfica comigo sempre que me desloco para sítios destes! Não tenho nenhuma foto para mostrar mas sempre podem ir ao blog dela. Só tenho a foto do meu Rail Fence com os tecidos que irei colocar na parte de trás.

Saturday afternoon I went to Paula's shop because I needed fabrics for may Rail Fence quilt and for my Blue Forest Wndow quilt and, Ursula was there too and she brought a beauuuutiful log cabin in flannel and imagin, Miss paula must have flipped because she made an uge kaleidoscope all with chitas de Alcobaça fabrics. It seems that I have to carry my digital camera whenever I go to these places! Ain't got no picture to show but you can see it on her blog. Only got my rail fence with the fabrics that I will use on the back and binding.

Este quilt, que ainda não tem nome, é para oferecer à minha sogra; tenho tido uns ligeiros problemas com a máquina de costura porque ela não gosta muito de "free quilting"! No proximo PIP vou levá-lo e ver se consigo fazer mais acolchoado livre com uma das Berninas que o sr Mário lá deixou; só tenho duas semanas para o terminar! oh oh!

E o nome, o que é que lhe vou chamar???? Alguma sugestão?

This quilt is to offer to my motherinlaw for her birthday; I've been with some problems with my sewing machine because it doesn't like very much free quilting! Next PIP I will take with me and try to quilt it in a Bernina because I only got two weeks to finish it! Oh Oh!!

Does anyone has a sugestion for the name???

Registos e Capelas

Neste domingo consegui acabar alguns registos e capelas que já tinha começado ops!... alguns ficaram com os alfinetes no laço he he! Tenho de ter mais cuidado a tirar fotografias.
This Sunday I finished some of my pieces that I've already started and ops... some still have pins on it he he! I've to be more carefull on taking photos.



Também fiz novas peças e ....algumas ficaram por acabar. Estas peças já estão reservadas para as lojas e ainda tenho uma série delas para fazer! Temmmmmpo, aonde é que páras?!
I also made new ones and... some haven't finished them. These pieces are reservated to some shops and still have to made much more! Oh timmmmme, where are you?!
